El capitán de pruebas australiano, Pat Cummins, habla sobre la amenaza que representa Rishabh Pant antes de la serie del Trofeo AUS vs IND Border-Gavaskar en noviembre.
Australia cricket team skipper Pat Cummins is wary of the threat posed by Rishabh Pant in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The all-rounder hasn’t forgotten the southpaw’s heroics from 2021 and certainly is not willing to take him lightly. The keeper-batter will be eyeing to replicate his heroics Down Under when India travel to Australia for the five-match Test series.
Pat Cummins wary of threat posed by Rishabh Pant at BGT
In a video posted of Star Sports on social media platform X, Cummins said that Pant was someone who had a big influence in the last couple of series. The veteran all-rounder stressed for the need to keep the southpaw quiet in order to taste success in the series.
“He is someone who has a big influence in a couple of series. Got to try and keep him quiet,” Cummins said.
The Australian skipper compared Rishabh Pant to Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head in terms of the style of playing. He backed the Australian duo to be as aggressive as the Indian keeper-batter, backing them to play the same ridicoulous and difficult shots that the latter did.

Rishabh Pant’s Test comeback
634 days after his last Test in 2022, Rishabh Pant returned to the longest format of the game in IND vs BAN 1st Test. Despite missing out on a half-century in the 1st innings, he went to announce his comeback in style with a sizzling century in the 2nd innings. Pant had been on the sidelines since December 2022 until March 2024 following a horrific car crash. The southpaw will play a crucial role in the series against Australia, given that the WTC champions are still haunted by his heroics in his last BGT.
