Rishabh Pant is among the most sought players to be available in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. The ace southpaw was not retained by Delhi Capitals and now is on the radar for every club. With each and every team eyeing to bring Pant into their roster, it will however be Kolkata Knight Riders where Pant would be the best fit.

As per reports by the PTI, Pant had a massive fallout from the Team owners. Reports claim Rishabh Pant was unhappy as he got to know that his captaincy would be stripped. Furthermore, the player was also displeased with the change in the support staff. All this led to the ace player not being retained and be available in the mega auction.

Where can Rishabh Pant join?

It will be an open field for all 10 teams. Delhi Capitals too can execute their Right To Match (RTM) on the destructive southpaw but that seems likely given the circumstances. Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders are the teams that need a star player who would also captain the team.

And Rishabh Pant moving to Kolkata Knight Riders would be a match made in heaven. Not only with Pant get a chance to captain a strong side, he will join a team of superstars who will head into the tournament as the defending champions.

Why a perfect fit?

If KKR signs Rishabh Pant they can fulfill three criteria – 1. They get a captain, 2. They get a keeper, 3. They get a middle order finisher. What more does the Knights want. But then price won’t be cheap. It is clearly evident that Rishabh Pant’s bidding price can go well beyond 25 crores.

It will be nice option for Pant to captain a side whose crore strength has been retained. Furthermore, as InsideSport revealed earlier, that KKR will be targeting specialized Indian players in the auction.

Furthermore, Rishabh Pant joining KKR would heavily fortify their middle order. And Pant pairing with Rinku Singh would be the dream for any team to have the finisher duo. While it is still early days, it remains to be seen what the teams plan and execute their strategies in the Auction.
