India’s golden boy and two-time Olympic medallist, Neeraj Chopra, is set to compete at the Diamond League final in Brussels, Belgium, on September 13 and 14. Neeraj’s event will take place on the 14th, where a total of six athletes will compete in the men’s javelin throw.

The javelin thrower from Haryana qualified for the season finale after finishing fourth in the standings. He had decent performances in Lausanne and Doha, securing second-place finishes at both meetings.

At the Lausanne Diamond League, he performed brilliantly, finishing second with a best throw of 89.49m, while in Doha, it was 88.36m.

90m mark in sight

Neeraj Chopra has struggled over the last four years, and despite winning two Olympic medals, he regrets not crossing the 90m mark. This final presents a golden opportunity for him to make a comeback and achieve a throw beyond 90m. Neeraj recorded his personal best throw of 89.94m in the 2022 Diamond League at Stockholm.

No Arshad Nadeem in the contest

Pakistan’s only Olympic gold medallist, Arshad Nadeem, has competed in just one Diamond League this year, failing to qualify for the finals, and will not be participating in the Diamond League finals.
