The ICC recently published it’s revenue boost for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. While hosts India managed to generate a massive revenue, it wasn’t the case with Pakistan. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on the other hand, managed to earn a significantly low revenue for the classic India vs Pakistan match that was held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

India managed to earn a whopping 38.5% of the ICC’s income. On the contrary, the PCB managed to get a mere 5.75% of the earning. It is important to note that the ICC earns it’s revenues mainly via the broadcast rights, and title sponsorships.

“A new economic report released today by the International Cricket Council (ICC) reveals that the ICC Men’s World Cup 2023, the biggest Cricket World Cup ever, generated an incredible total economic impact of $1.39 billion (11,637 crore Indian rupees) for the economy of India,” an ICC press release stated.

India gets 230m, Pakistan earns 34.5 m

There has been a stark difference in the sharing of the revenues between the two sides. And as evident rom from the data, it is India who get the lion share of the revenue. On the other hand, the PCB is left with mere peanuts, i.e 34.51 m when compared to it’s biggest rival in cricket.

It is also to be noted that the BCCI gets the major revenue owing to the huge number of sponsorships which India provides for the ICC. While the IND vs PAK clash is always a means of revenue generation, Pakistan managed to earn less than compared to the likes of both England and Australia.
