1. If India wins 4 Test matches and loses 2 to Australia, then India qualifies as the top team with Australia second.
2. If India wins 4 Test matches and draws the other 2, in such a case India tops the charts while Australia drops to the third spot.
3. If India wins BGT 2-0, and under favourable conditions, it will be South Africa who takes the second spot with Australia slipping to the third spot.
4. If India wins BGT 1-0 and favorable conditions prevail the Proteas will top the charts while India will qualify for the finals by finishing second.
